He's always bumped into people to try to make them fall, this year he literally hit Imaizumi's wheel (which could have caused him to fall and get seriously hurt)... next year we'll see him sticking metal bars in people's wheels or slashing their tires while riding together.
I understand he's a cool character, interesting villain, the voice actor is doing a great job, but this is the sort of shit that should just get him banned from racing.

funnily enough if you tried what he did, your racing license is going to get revoked. you could get fined if you so graze the next rider with your shoulder in pro cycling

watching these 2 fight will always be a pleasant to the eye. They're not using some kind of tricky or weird ability. They both just have so much high spec that the only way they outpaced each other is if 1 of them make a very slight mistake.

ok, so they put a 100m race into a 20 mins ep, and then a little later they put a 200 FwKING meter lead into 3 sec?! tf are you guys doing??

also,, Midousuji is clearly on a WHOLE different level on every meaning, yet they made him lose a race against some who absolutely had no energy left?! and then he lost against Imaizumi too? nah dude.. i understand that the anime creators want to build up tension, but the power distance means nothing to them?! ignoring those important details will F up the story..

You're acting like this isn't what they've been doing for 5 seasons now lol. We've had entire episodes of nothin but flashbacks and dialogues on a 10 metre finish line race XD

If you want an explanation, you can say Midousuji is alone, so if he tries too hard now, he will collapse and lose before the finish like like he did last year. He's trying to save up some power so he can finish the 5 smth kilometres left and win, while Naruko can ride those 200 or so metres without having to worry about finishing.

And you say Midousuji is on a whole different level as if he doesn't win every race with milimetres to spare, and hasn't lost a bunch as well.
Of course, most races are very close, but you're acting like he won with a kilometre to spare cause he's so op when most of the time he has to use tricks and outsmart his opponents to squeeze out a win (and he very often loses as well, in fact he probably lost more than he won if we count all the stages).

It's not that he's weak either, it's just he has no team... he can't commit to win every stage alone or he'd collapse on the second day.
If his current assistant wasn't useless he'd be able to sacrifice himself in this last section and create a huge margin for Midousuji to have the best chance at winning. Maybe next year :P
Ishigaki wasn't nearly as strong as the muscle pervert, but he at least properly did his job and always pulled Midousuji as long as he could.

when i said Midousuji is on a whole different level, i meant that he is clearly the best all rounder with a huge extra power and a super talent. yea, he usually use tricks and stuff, but also he was able to get the front from the back in NO TIME several times.
but i have to agree with that point that he might just save up some energy for the last few hundreds of meters.
